Hey Russ – thanks for the guide. Well I did it. Fiddly as hell with those ribbons – after some issues with building my original OGA, I was weary of them this time (I had to blue tac in the screen connector after I snapped the clip). None of the spare dpads or buttons I had (think they are all Gameboy derivatives) would fit, all too large. The sticks work and have a rubber top so much nicer to use. I couldn’t get the speaker cable or battery cable out, and I was at the limit I could go without fear of breaking. Thanks for the guide!

Aloha Russ, well I’m delighted to say I’ve managed to pull off this mod here on a rainy Friday morning in the UK. Thanks so much for your guide and warning me about the pitfalls, I managed to pull it off without a hitch thanks to your great instructions and a little patience. I hope a better D-Pad and buttons surface soon to continue the mod, in the meantime, I’ve put the old analogue sticks in the kitchen with my steak knives! 🙂🙂🙂
